High level meeting on “Swachhata Hi Seva” held at PHQ | KNO

DGP directs police officers to participate wholeheartedly in the nationwide sanitation

In order to ensure active participation of Police in the nationwide sanitation campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva” being launched on 15.09.2017 a high level meeting was chaired by Director General of Police Dr. S.P. Vaid at Police Headquarters, Srinagar. The meeting was attended by the top officers of PHQ and Zonal IGsP, DIsG, District SsP and Commandants by Video Conferencing.

Speaking on this occasion, the DGP impressed upon the police officers to ensure active and whole hearted participation by mobilizing all the resources and manpower to make the nationwide sanitation campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva” a success. Referring to the adage that cleanliness is godliness, the DGP said that all the police establishments of all the wings should be maintained neat and clean by putting in extra efforts of removing the garbage and providing adequate number of dustbins. He directed the concerned officers to launch special sanitation drives in Police Housing Colonies at Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat Jammu and Zewan and Bemina Housing Colonies in Kashmir.
Lauding the efforts of Principal Police Training School Manigam for keeping the complex of School well maintained, he exhorted upon the district SsP and Commandants to put in special efforts for cleaning and upkeep of the kitchens, washrooms/toilets and barracks of the Police Stations, Police Lines and the Battalions and Company formations.
Highlighting the need for preservation and cleaning of the world famous Dal Lake it was decided in the meeting that manpower from different wings of the police department will be mobilized to help in cleaning the Lake and hospitals.
Those officers who attend the meeting included V.K. Singh, Special DGP, PHQ, L. Mohanti, ADGP (Armed), J.P Singh, IGP (Pers.), Surinder Gupta, IGP (Hqrs.), Mubarak Ahmad Ganie, IGP Railways, Hilal Ahmed, Director Police Telecommunication, Munir Ahmed Khan, IGP Kashmir, S.D Singh Jamwal, IGP Jammu, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, IGP, range DIsG, (by video conferencing); and AIsG PHQ, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Mubassir Latifi, Kulbir Singh, Ab. Waheed Shah, Manoj Pandita and Chief Accounts Officer, PHQ, Nahila Zahoor and Gazetted Officers of different sections at PHQ. (KNS)
